Lord, Make Me a Bubble-Wand!

“Then your light will appear like the dawn, and your recovery will come quickly.  Your righteousness will go before you, and
the Lord’s glory will be your rear guard.”
Isaiah 58:8

Close your eyes.  Imagine.  Dip the giant bubble-wand held tightly in your hand into the soapy liquid swirling with every pastel of the rainbow. Run! Run swiftly across the open field with the wand high above your head! Stop.  Turn around. OHHHHH…looK!  Look at the long trail of transparent yet color-filled  bubbles…each one reflecting the sun’s bright light, dancing up…and down…all around in the gentle breeze.   How beautiful!!!

With a sense of urgency God charged Isaiah, “Cry out loudly, don’t hold back!  Raise your voice like a trumpet.  (Warn) my people!”

His people whined, “Why have we fasted, but You have not seen?  We have denied ourselves, but You haven’t noticed!”

God instructed, “The fast I choose is to break the chains of wickedness, set the oppressed free, and tear off yokes of bondage. For you to share your bread with the hungry, house the homeless, and clothe the naked. Then your light will appear as the dawn, and your recovery will come quickly.  Your righteousness will go before you, and the Lord’s glory will be your rear guard.”
Isaiah 58:1-8

Close your eyes.  Contemplate.  Today, I will dip deeply into the very presence of God and be filled…filled to overflowing with streams of His living water.  I will run…run swiftly with perseverance the race He has set before me… holding tightly to the Lord Jesus Christ.  Stop.  Turn around. OHHHHH…looK!  Look at the long trail of light behind you, dancing joyfully in the places you have been!  It’s the glory of the Lord!  How beautiful!!!!
