Wrestling

My daddy taught my brothers and me how to wrestle at a sprite, young age.  I really did not grow up knowing what it's like to be pinned, because I was usually the victor, the one doing the pinning.  Ha!  My two younger and now bigger brothers would just love that I am announcing their defeat (by a GIRL!) to the world!  About the time when my youngest brother started maturing, I decided it was time to call it quits.  I would forever revel in my championship title that to this day shall not be dismantled.  I have never been beaten!  (Although, I am sure some may argue against that fact but my memory fails to recall a match that I did not bask in sweet victory.)

Wouldn't it be nice?  I mean, really.  Would it not be nice to maintain the confidence of a victorious conqueror in the midst of all life's wrestling matches?  For instance and in real time, personally and currently, I am wrestling with this internal question: "Am I living a life worth writing about? -OR- Am I attempting to write about a life worth living?"  Yeah, I know, it sounds complicated!  Read it again; for me that junction between my words and my actions truly strikes a cord!  I would like to come out on top in the struggle with this spiritual heart examination but I tend to call it quits, walk away from engaging the problem, fearful of the risks, and unwilling to surrender what is at stake.

What are you wrestling with?  What do you do when you know you cannot win?  What is the truth about your situation?

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. - {Romans 8:35,37 NIV}

It is only in Christ's love that we are able to come out on top.  I must take my questions and my struggles to my Father in heaven trusting that His way is victorious in my life and in eternity.

1 Spout:

Fun memories! ( We better not let the brother who is now a sergeant in the US Marine Corp read this post! You might be challenged to a rematch!) :)
Much love from,
Your mom
"...be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might...stand against the wiles of the devil. For you do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places." Eph. 6:10-12
